Rome: Craddle of Civilization.

With 1,285 km2 Rome is one of the most ancient cities on the occidental hemisphere. Like almost all capitals in Europe, a walking tour of Rome is a living lesson of historic art. Rome has always been the center of the cultural world many times in the past. It is not necessary to go to a Museum in Rome for this city to work its magic.

Culture surrounds you everywhere, the city throws in your face its magnificence. The constructions of Il Altare di la Patria, was controversial. It had opposition to its construction, because they did not want to make way for the new. The Colosseum, still remains with all its greatness in spite of its years. Then go to La Fontana di Trevi and make a wish!

Food is a very important part of Italian culture. When you go to any restaurant in Italy, be sure to go with an empty stomach. Italians eat four courses, just for lunch. Il antipasto, that is the entrance, usually includes, tomatoes, olives, pepperoncini, mushrooms, anchovies, artichoke hearts and various chesses. Then comes Il primo piatto, the first course, the pasta, that has infinity varieties. La seconda piastra, the second course, comes with meat, fish or chicken, sometimes pork, some salad and rice or potato. And then make space for dessert. Profiterole, Cassatta, Cannoli, Pana Cotta, Sfogliatelle, Gelato… No way to say no!

With 2,877,215 residents, Rome is the most populated region on Italy. It is a lively city, full of people walking around. It has the rush of any capital city, bustling restaurants and a very exciting nocturne life. To fall prey to Rome is very easy. It is not casual Woody Allen made a movie about this city!

This is in fact a very recommendable city to go to. The cradle of the occidental civilization, some people call it. It requires more than a few lines to embrace this city with its whole magnificence. Wherever you go, the scenery will be stunning; restaurants, fountains, squares, statues, monumental structures. Rome, a city to fall in love of.
